Doug Shapley

The Cairngorms is a place which has fascinated since being a child. It has always been held in high regard in the conservation and environment sector due to some of its progressive land management and rare species and habitats which occur here. I have spent many months exploring the landscape here, including conducting my mSC research project. It is home to the UKs largest expanse of ancient caledonian pine forest as well as arctic alpine habitats. This body of work is a combination of 35mm film scans and digital images taken over 10 years on multiple visits.
