this work was part of a commission for the coalfield environment initiative. the coalfield environment initiative is a landscape scale restoration project working across east ayrshire, Scotland. it has a vision that The East Ayrshire coalfield area will contain thriving communities, living and working within a high-quality natural environment. working across what was once an active coal mining area, it is delivering this vision with a community action-focused approach where local volunteers and land managers are engaged in the natural environment and restoring and creating habitats important both for wildlife and in tackling the climate crisis.
